Allison Hornery is the director of Hornery Plus, a small agency focused on the development, delivery and support of a wide range of ICT solutions for government, as well as exploring new options for value-added ICT services to deliver benefits to small business, citizens and communities.
Allison has a diverse background in IT policy analysis and development, creative campaigns and communication as well as project and event management. Allison was responsible for the development of IT&T policy for local government in Australia through her work for the Australian Local Government Association, including the development of Australia’s first training and information guide for councils.
Allison is a specialist in the development and management of large-scale, shared services projects for the public sector. Over the last 5 years, she has managed a range of large-scale local e-Government initiatives, including the $6m NTN Local-e project delivering shared web services to more than 100 Councils and the $10m RRIF Red Tape Blueprints program with 41 Councils.
Allison has a particular interest in regional and rural areas, having grown up in central western NSW, and thrives on the challenges faced in delivering valuable outcomes to these areas. She has held a range of advisory roles including as an expert adviser to Commonwealth ICT summits in India, South Africa and shortly in Nigeria.
In such work, Allison lives her passion for ICT’s potential in building bridges for social development that is long-term and local.
